Active Isolated Stretch

Active Isolated Stretch is a technique that works with your body's nervous and muscular systems to provide safe and significant increases in flexibility. It is a physiologically sound tool that can be used in warming up, cooling down, injury prevention and rehabilitation.

Increases flexibility and mobility

Increases blood flow and muscle recovery.

This technique allows each muscle to be stretched independently. Performing precise localized movements isloates the muscle being stretched.

Each stretch is held for 2 seconds at the end of your range of motion and then released. 8-10 repetitions of each stretch should be performed.

By releasing the stretch after 2 seconds you are allowing increased blood flow, oxygen uptake and nutrition to tissues.

This technique can be performed with the assistance of a trainer or independently with the use of a rope.
